Yoga at ctchealthcare

Yoga is a dynamic form of movement that combines strength, flexibility, mobility and balance. The practice of yoga allows the practioner to move their body in different ways, encouraging an awareness of the connection between body and breath. Yoga is a well rounded practice that enables people to build strength, develop better balance, expand their range of mobility and cultivate an overall feeling of well being.

The practice of  yoga is 8 different overall practices combined, which are yama (abstinences), niyama (observances), asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breath control), pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation) and samadhi (absorption/ enlightenment).

Our classes are charged at £8.00 per session however we do offer block bookings also.

Our Yoga Classes

Vinyasa Flow
Slow and Steady, dynamic movement that combines a balance between strength and flexibility. Vinyasa is a creative practice that combines all areas of the body into a sequence that ties postures together. Suitable for all levels with modifications and variations to suit every ability/ limitation.
Rest and Restore
A restorative practice mostly spent in seated or grounded postures, incorporating props to hold the body in supportive resting postures. The focus here is to work with opening, releasing and letting go of tension in the body. This style is suitable for all levels and is a lovely way to unwind but might appeal to those looking for a gentler practice.
Private Sessions
Before a private session our instructor Charlie will consult with the you to understand what they would like the focus of the session to be. Whether that’s something you are looking to work on, a physical limitation you are managing or something specific you would like to learn more about. The session will take you through a sequence designed for you with a focus on verbal cues and body reading so that the you can better understand what is going on in your body throughout each posture. A work sheet is included to outline postures that were visited in the session along with alignment tips should they choose to practice the sequence in your own time.
