Ergonomic
consultancy and best
working practice guidelines
Our highly experienced master’s level and ACPOHE
qualified physiotherapists provide ergonomic
assessment and review of your company’s working
practices and business needs. Following this, they
provide the necessary practical recommendations
to minimise the risk of injury, promote safer working
practices and reduce sickness absence.
Our ergonomic consultancy follows three stages:
1. Observation
– allows a true and in-depth
understanding of specific work tasks along
with one-to-one discussions with employees
(see ergonomic assessment)
2. Development
– introduce new ways of working that
reduce stress and strain on the body to diminish the
likelihood of injury
3. Intervention
– to provide guidance on gold standard
practice, delivered in a variety of formats to suit
your business. Our training packages are either web
based or face to face and include
manual handling
training
and
ergonomic training
. Train the trainer
sessions can also be facilitated.

(DSE) assessments
A DSE assessment involves a review of computer
workstations and equipment to reduce injury risk.
We can complete a full assessment of your businesses
and deliver a detailed report to identify key risks and
areas for improvement as well as assessing individuals
that may be having any of the following issues listed
below as reported by the HSE.
A high proportion of DSE workers report headaches
(52%), eye discomfort (58%), neck pain (47%), low back
pain (37%) and shoulder pain (39%) (HSE, 2007).
“The Best Working Practice Guidelines that
